Tuna Melt in Your Mouth

image
Here is a foolproof recipe for a tasty tuna-melt sandwich. This took only ten minutes to make. To cut my cooking time down, I used a pre-diced celery and onion mix that my grocery store sells. What a way to make life easy. This tuna-melt has so much flavor. I highly recommend this for a quick but filling lunch!

Items needed:

One 12-ounce can of tuna drained
3 tblspns of mayo
1 tsp of mustard
1/4 tsp of celery salt
Pinch of pepper
4 tblspns of diced onion-and-celery mix
Shredded cheese
One sour pickle sandwich slice
Food processor
Spatula

And away we go!

In the food processor, add your onion and celery, pickle, celery salt and ground pepper. I love celery salt. It adds a nice fresh flavor to any dish. I highly recommend keeping some in your pantry.

Give this a quick pulse.

Add the drained tuna, mayo and mustard to the diced veggies.

Give this a quick pulse, but not for too long. Last time I ended up with tuna pâté. Not really a nice texture for tuna sandwiches.

It’s okay if it doesn’t mix completely. Use the spatula to hand mix it all together.

On a cutting board, place your slices of bread. Scoop a generous amount of tuna on to each slice, then sprinkle on some cheddar cheese…

I need to work fast! The scent of tuna is in the air, and I have two Applehead Siamese cats trying to take over the kitchen!

Pop the not-quite-yet-tuna-melts into your toaster oven for 3&1/2 to 4 minutes, or until the bread has fully toasted.

And now for the moment of melt-in-your-mouth truth…
